Athame

The athame is used for commanding and manipulating Power, and directing
energy raised during Rituals and Spells. The athame is the black
handled knife and is never used for any other purpose other than
directing energy.

Bell

The Bell is used to invoke the Deities, and by some to signify the beginning
and end of Rituals.

Bolline

The Bolline is the tool used for cutting things, the white handled knife.
It is used for harvesting herbs, plants carving wands
and symbols on candles.

Book of Shadows

A personal book for recording Spells, Rituals, thoughts etc.
Record every working in this Book, successful and failed attempts too.

Besom

The besom or broom is used to sweep away negative influences at your
Sacred Space prior to casting the Circle. It can be used as an instrument of Protection by the main doorways into the house. Its also used for
handfastings , to jump over it.

It is both a God and Goddess symbol, and is of the Element water.

Cauldron

The cauldron is the focal point on the altar during Rituals, it is used
for making oils and brews, and can also be used for divination, by
filling with water and letting it settle. It is usually of black cast iron
and has 3 legs. It is the symbol of the Goddess.

Chalice

A stemmed cup made of metals crystal or glass, it is the symbol
of fertility. Chalices are used in Dedication and Initiation ceremonies.
It holds water or Ritual drink such as wine juice. It is a Goddess
symbol and of the Element of water.

Pentacle

A 5 pointed star surrounded by a circle. The top point represents
Spirit and the other 4 are North South east and West. It is a
symbol of Protection is Rituals and can be placed over doorways. I
t is of the Element Earth.

Wand

Used for focusing energy, to invoke the Deities and for drawing a
Ritual circle. Many types of wood can be used such as
willow elder and oak. You can decorate your wand,
by carvings adding crystals, It should ideally be the length
of your arm from elbow to wrist. Its is of the Element of Fire.

Also needed are stores of candles, oils, herbs, small bowls
for salt and water for ritual. And, importantly a snuffer for
extinguishing candles.

Later on one can add statues of various Deities but to begin a
God and Goddess candle is fine.
